My goal this season is, as always, to have a good time on the field as well as a positive attitude that glorifies God. To further that goal, I am implementing a change that will hopefully allow us to grow closer as a team and improve individually as well. Playing softball on our team over the last few years has definitely been fun, but at the same time frustrating as well. Most of us know it has been difficult to get a win. I believe our team has the physical ability and winning potential to greatly improve our season record, given we all make a strong commitment to the team.
We have held weekly practices in past seasons, but attendance wasn’t required and some didn’t attend. I believe if you want to personally help the team get stronger, you will make a commitment, and show up for practices. As a result, practices will be required. Of course some will occasionally miss to take care of prior commitments. This is understandable, as long as I know before hand. Those that show up for practice are guaranteed to have a spot in the next game’s line-up. Those that do not come will not have a guaranteed spot. Since this change wasn’t clearly defined above the signup sheet, anyone who feels they cannot meet these expectations may remove himself from the roster and I will refund his $35.
Again, this change isn’t to inconvenience anyone, but instead, is to show the team your commitment and give God the best you have to offer.
Practices will start on Saturday, April 5th at 8:30am at Tiemeyer field #3 in St.Ann. In the event the fields are unplayable due to rain, I will let you know that practice is cancelled.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
